What we believe

Teens today face many different challenges. Not only are they bombarded with distractions and temptations everywhere they look, but misguided philosophies and false doctrine also saturate their culture. Rooted Student Ministry desires to see students planted firmly in the foundation of Jesus Christ. We believe the Scripture in Colossians 2:6-7 that says: "Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." When rooted in Christ, students will bear fruit, walk with confidence and stand strong when the storms of life come their way.

Teenagers play a vital role in the church body. They are not just “the church of tomorrow” as is often stated. Teens are the church of TODAY. 2 Timothy 4:12 says “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity”. This is the attitude we strive to teach our students. They need to know they are valued and can be used by God at any age in life for the purpose of His glory.

Net Night

Thursdays // 6:15pm

Rooster's Crow Coffee

Net Night is designed to be an open and welcoming Night. We often will encourage students to "share your friends". What we mean by this is simply to let us all meet them as well. During this time, we will play games, goof off and hang out. We also have a short Bible study time followed by small groups. We keep it simple here so that it is easily accessible to anyone.

Fireside

Sundays // 4pm

Fireside is our time to get into the Bible more intentionally. During this time, we will focus in and talk about some of the bigger themes and ideas happening in a passage or topics. We meet at 4:00pm at 7905 Logan Dr. in the chapel.
This class is taught by Blake Arnold

Missions

Our students participate in various missions within the community such as restoring a playground, doing yard work, cleaning school grounds, cleaning local parks, serving in thrift stores, spending time with residents at Aldridge Creek Assisted Living Home, and participating in our monthly Donut Mini-Mission (where students bless local businesses with donuts.) Students have also had the opportunity to serve in various ministries in the Nashville area.

Carpe Diem Groups

Carpe Diem Groups are designed to lead students into a deeper understanding of the Word of God and what it means to follow Christ. We will provide in depth study into the Bible and Disciple students to walk intentionally with Christ.

"whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked."
